MFG DAY addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry. The MFG DAY website (www.mfgday.com) offers resources for in-class activities, a comprehensive list of events (filtered by state and city), and other ways to get involved.
Find or register to host an event at http://www.mfgday.com/.
Most Manufacturing Day activities are scheduled the first week of October, centered around Manufacturing Day. This year, MFG Day falls on October 6, 2017.
Most activities are free. Check the website for details.
Most events will be class groups traveling to selected events or hosting their own.
All groups are encouraged to submit points for each activity completed this day, whether it is officially registered on the Manufacturing Day website or something homegrown. Please be sure to tell us exactly what you did on the Submission Form, and don't forget to post pictures @makerminded or #makerminded
